[e para quem tem pedido fotografias da minha barriga de 8 meses, cá está ela!]
I really miss living in the countryside. To open the front door and only see green pastures, to hear nothing but animal sounds (and the odd tractor, for sure)… I long for the tranquility of a house in the middle of nowhere.
Last weekend we went to a place that took me back to Long Walk (the house where we lived in England): Springfield, the homestead of caterer Ruth Pretty. It’s located in Te Horo, an hour north of Wellington and an hour south from our home, and it’s simultaneously a catering business, cookery school, kitchen shop, nursery, kitchen garden and café. It admirably combines a few classic British elements with a touch of very Kiwi simplicity, ingenuity and unpretentiousness. I loved it.
[and for those of you who’ve been asking to have a look at my bump at 8 months, here it is!]
